720485-S-FC – Magnetic Seal Gasket Bottom for CCT-NC-30 – Works with all Harshaw, Engelhard, Atotech USA, Atlas and Auto Technology Company fog and cyclic corrosion test chambers. PURPOSE: The purpose of the magnetic seal is to seal the cover of the cabinet to the cabinet. The SOUTH POLE of the magnetic seal is one-half of the set. Coupled with the North Pole, the set provides the seal. This is to prevent the corrosive atmosphere from escaping the exposure zone. This design is for a CCT-NC chamber with a fiberglass cover, and an imbedded track system. LOCATION: The South Pole magnetic seal is glued to the top edge of the cabinet. It is the flexible gray strip around the perimeter of the top edge. It is fastened to the fiberglass with a “dart” that fits into an imbedded track. This seal is made up of a flexible Santoprene pocket which encases a magnetic strip. The bottom gasket has a magnet with a SOUTH POLE magnetic pull. This SOUTH POLE magnet is attracted to the NORTH POLE magnet which is attached using the track system in the cover. FUNCTION: As the cover closes, the South Pole gasket is attracted to the North Pole gasket on the cover pulling the two gaskets together. This creates a positive seal. As the cover opens the seal is broken. Please note that this seal requires a track on your chamber.  If your unit has an acrylic lid with the old-style seal that is glued on, you will need to contact Auto Technology for information on the old seal PN 720485 (which requires PN 710250 to install this) or for information to upgrade your cover assembly to a fiberglass cover with the new seals (PN 710245-NC30).
