Scribe Angle Guide for Corrosion Testing | C175010
$215.92
The C175010 Scribe Angle Guide maintains the proper cutting angle for consistent corrosion test scribes. Compatible with the C175005 Tool Tip and C175000 Handle.
Description
80° Scribe Angle Guide for Corrosion Testing – C175010
The C175010 80° Scribe Angle Guide positions a compatible carbide cutting insert at approximately 80° in the direction of the scribe. The guide helps laboratories produce controlled, repeatable manual scribes while reducing operator-to-operator variation.
Ford BI 169-01 specifies that the cutting edge be held at approximately 80° in the direction of the scribe while remaining 90° to the plane of the test panel. The C175010 helps maintain the 80° directional angle while the operator keeps the assembled tool perpendicular to the panel surface.
When combined with the C175000 Laboratory Scribe Tool Handle and the C175005 Carbide Scribe Tool Tip, the C175010 creates a complete 80° corrosion scribing tool assembly.

Complete Your 80° Corrosion Scribing Tool
The C175010 80° Scribe Angle Guide is the angle-control component of Auto Technology’s modular corrosion scribing system. To assemble and use the complete 80° scribing tool, you will also need:
- Laboratory Scribe Tool Handle – C175000 – Provides the reusable grip and support for the complete assembly.
- Carbide Scribe Tool Tip – C175005 – The replaceable cutting insert that produces the scribe through the coating to the substrate.
Together, the handle, C175010 80° angle guide, and carbide cutting tip form a complete handheld corrosion scribing tool. All three components are required to assemble the complete 80° tool.
Important Orientation Requirement
The C175010 controls the approximate 80° angle in the direction of the scribe. During use, the operator must also maintain the cutting tip at approximately 90° to the plane of the panel, as required by the applicable scribing procedure.
