Description

Private In-Person Corrosion Testing Training

Private in-person training provides customized corrosion testing instruction for your organization. Training is normally conducted at Auto Technology’s corrosion laboratory and manufacturing facility in Strongsville, Ohio, but customer-site training may also be arranged.

Before the course, Auto Technology works with your team to identify the corrosion specifications, equipment, products, laboratory procedures, participant responsibilities, and technical concerns that should be addressed. The final curriculum is developed around your organization’s needs rather than a predetermined class outline.

ASTM B117 may be included because it provides many of the foundational chamber, solution, atomization, specimen-positioning, documentation, and laboratory concepts used in accelerated corrosion testing. However, private training is not limited to ASTM B117 and can focus on other static or cyclic corrosion methods, customer procedures, chamber operation, laboratory practices, maintenance, troubleshooting, or a combination of requested subjects.

Training May Address

  • Understanding and applying the corrosion specifications used by your organization
  • Recognizing the purpose and limitations of different corrosion test methods
  • Operating corrosion chambers and their control systems
  • Installation and utility requirements
  • Solution preparation, water quality, concentration, and pH measurement
  • Specimen preparation, positioning, and documentation
  • Verifying chamber conditions and collection rates
  • Developing consistent laboratory procedures and operating records
  • Performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshooting chamber or test-condition problems
