Water Spray Test Chamber – Century Series
The Auto Technology Century Series Water Spray Test Chamber is configurable for controlled rain, shower, oscillating spray, and high-pressure wash exposures. Spray apparatus, water conditions, specimen motion, and controls are selected for the applicable component and procedure.

Water Spray Test Chamber for Rain and Water Ingress Testing
The Auto Technology Century Series Water Spray Test Chamber provides a controlled enclosure for evaluating housings, seals, connectors, lighting products, vehicle components, and other assemblies exposed to water during service or cleaning. This rain and water ingress test chamber can be configured for shower, oscillating spray, fixed-nozzle spray, or high-pressure wash exposures.
The applicable spray apparatus, water pressure, flow, temperature, nozzle geometry, specimen position, motion, and control sequence are selected around the test item and procedure rather than forcing every application into one fixed chamber arrangement.
Procedure-specific configuration: A standards reference does not mean every Century chamber performs every procedure or protection level. The current method and required nozzle, flow, pressure, water temperature, distance, specimen motion, calibration, and reporting requirements must be reviewed before the chamber is configured.

High-Pressure Spray
Four independently controlled nozzles apply high-pressure water from adjustable positions. Each nozzle can be assigned a separate timed step with the automated-control package.

Oscillating Spray Arc

JIS D 0203 Rain Test Chamber
The JIS apparatus provides the rain and spray distributions used by the R1, R2, S1, and S2 procedures while the arm rotates on a 45-degree axis.

Custom Fixed-Nozzle Spray
Fixed-nozzle systems can be arranged for component-specific spray angles, distances, and coverage. Documented Century options include a 45-degree spray arrangement developed for SAE J575-type applications.

Specimen Motion and Powered Testing
The rotating platform exposes different sides of the specimen without stopping the procedure for manual repositioning. Platform speed is adjustable, and automatic reversing can be added when the specimen or test method requires alternating motion.

Older Century documentation uses the former designations IEC 68-2-18 and IEC 529. Current quotations should identify the applicable current standard, edition, procedure, and protection level.
Water Handling, Construction, and Safety

High-pressure protection testing: The documented 400-1,500 psi pressure range and 80°C heated-water capability do not by themselves establish compliance with ISO 20653 or an IP protection level. Flow rate, nozzle type and force, spray angles, distance, exposure time, specimen rotation, instrumentation, and calibration must also satisfy the current procedure.
